2 little monkeys

Ross started putting his face by his cheeks and snapping his hands together. Then we realized it must be a song at school, just as he did with itsy-bitsy spider. We figured out the song, and here it is:

My smart boy

Ross climbs on everything. Tonight he put the lid on the tub where we store Alex's geo trax. He started to get in to stuff on the counter. I moved the tub and took the lid off.

He turned the tub over to dump all the geo trax out and turned it completly over and climbed up to the counter with the tub upside down.

Happy Halloween!

We went trick-or-treating. Alex as Thomas the Tank Engine, Ross as Batman. Ross stayed in his stroller and the first lollipop he got went straight in his mouth. Later he bit the wrapper off another lollipop and ate that, then ate pretzels, then had an entire Reese's pb cup in his mouth- foil, wrapper, and all. Then he wanted another lollipop and we took his pumpkin and he threw a fit.

Alex loved everything! He did so much better this year. Last year he was scared of all the scary costumes. This year he said they were fake and "it's just a man in there". He also asked people if they were strangers then told them he can't talk to strangers...yeah, still working on that.

I love the expression I caught. Every type of candy he got, he told the person, "oooh, that's my favorite."

This is how he rolled all night long. Didn't even try to get out. Notice the lollipop in hand!

Shirt from Granny. He wore this under his Batman get-up.
Here are some pictures from my phone.

poo poo

Last night I turned to get something out of the fridge. Ross was sitting behind me in the high chair. He lifted up my shirt and said, "Ew, poo poo".

...and dey awl axed fuh you

We went on down to the Audubon Zoo...

We had a great day on Saturday. The weather wasn't too scalding so we decided to go to the zoo. Alex had a good time.

When we were in the snake/reptile exhibit Patrick took over Alex and I had Ross. Ross was happy as a clam running around in the dark, crowded exhibit. I finally got back over to Patrick to see him sitting on the bench. WHAT!?! I've been chasing around Ross and you're sitting. Then I notice Alex laid out on the bench with his "iPad" (a notebook) and a crayon and he's drawing a snake. How cool is that? Patrick said he saw a snake and just wanted to draw it, so he took his iPad out, sat down, and went to work. After we left there we took a family picture by the Oak and the drawing bug hit Alex again, he just had to draw a tree.

Toward the end all he wanted was Roman Candy (taffy) so we skipped from the Swamp on after and circled back around for the boy's candy.

Aunt Meggie took this fabulous family shot

Aunt Meggie watching the fearless Alex climb like Curious George (which, by the way, happens to be his new favorite show)

"Here's my crayon. I'm going to draw a tree."

My sweet boys!

And this is my favorite!

If I had a superpower....

My super power would be to make all the nasty viruses disappear.

Ross has had diarrhea since Tuesday when he went back to daycare from our week off thanks to Hurricane Isaac. On Tuesday he didn't eat much and he pooped all day long. We thought he was just having some anxiety because Daddy said he screamed when he was dropped off at school. Wednesday he ate but still had diarrhea. Thursday he got really bad diaper rash because of the diarrhea. Friday it was worse. Friday night I got some fabulous stuff called Lantiseptic and put that on it. It looked better Saturday morning. I also picked up some Bag Balm. Now his butt is looking pretty good but all he's had has been diarrhea since Tuesday. I'm also putting culturelle in his food. A daycare worker told me all the kids have diarrhea so I'm figuring it's a virus now.

Sunday morning, Alex says he doesn't feel good and a few minutes later he pukes. Thankfully (and hopefully) it was only one time. Neither boy has fever (phew!).

On another note- and the reason I came to blog this morning- Ross has a new word. Tee-tee means cookie. Yes, our chunky monkey says cookie. This morning, while eating cookies, Sookie (our 12lb. rat terrier) took his cookie. Ross chased her around the house saying not nice (nah-nie).
